Philippines are fantastic. But they can be quite challenging for travel as you must do a lot of travelling to see most of it. There are more than 9000 islands there, so here are some tips and tricks for your Philippines travel itinerary:
Booking Flights and Accommodations:
Book flights and accommodations well in advance to secure the best rates. For internal flights, i highly recommend Cebu Pacific Air. https://www.cebupacificair.com/en-PH/ In my experience, no delays, always on time, great prices, and even giveaway quizes during flights :)
Local Tours and Activities:
Research and book tours in advance, especially for popular attractions like the Underground River (this tour is quite full and almost all day) and island-hopping in El Nido.
Opt for guided tours to make the most of your time and learn about the local culture.
Transportation Between Islands:
Use ferries or flights to travel between islands (e.g., Coron to El Nido).
Be aware of ferry schedules and book tickets early. For ferries, use Bookaway (https://www.bookaway.com/) and for ferry from Oslob to Panglao provider is Apekotravel (https://apekoptravelandtours.com/products/PANGLAO-OSLOB-VICE-VERSA-TRIPS-c153469759). But be aware, that departure of this ferry can change due to weather conditions, so do not rely on the hour of departure on your voucher. Better be there much ahead of the time, because changes can happen instantly and nobody is going to inform you about it.
Exploring Coron and El Nido:
Coron: Don’t miss Kayangan Lake and Twin Lagoons (Tour A). Also Island Escapade Tour is very nice and you get to see beautiful beaches. Do it if weather is good and you have time.
El Nido: Take both Tour A and Tour C to explore the stunning limestone formations and hidden lagoons. Don't forget to take Canopy tour, either in the morning or late afternoon, because of the heat. Also, if you want to have a different kind of experience while staying in El Nido, go to this hotel : https://frendzresorthostels.com/el-nido/ and go on tours with them: https://haqqy.life/.
Puerto Princesa and Moalboal:
Visit the Underground River near Puerto Princesa. A must see.
Enjoy boardwalk along the see for amazing choices of restaurants and bars, with amazing food and good vibes.
In Moalboal, experience the Sardine run and explore Kawasan Falls. But ask about Kawasan Falls in front as sometimes, access is limited because of possible works there. If you have time, go and see them, otherwise, Sardine run is a must see in Moalboal.
Bohol Adventures:
Explore Bohol’s Tarsier Sanctuary, Chocolate Hills, and Loboc River.
Don’t miss the Whale Shark tour in Panglao. (You can also do Sardine run tour in Bohol if you don't have time to visit Moalboal.)
All tours can be made, with best prices here: https://discoverboholtours.com/#dayTours
Local Cuisine and Culture:
Try Filipino dishes like adobo, lechon, sinigang, sisig, halo-halo and more. Just enjoy it. (https://www.tastingtable.com/1282299/popular-filipino-foods-have-try-least-once/)
Interact with locals and learn about their traditions.
