Singapur - Malaysia 2019

Zagreb - Istanbul - Singapur - Melaka - Kuala Lumpur - Kuala Terengganu - Redang - Perhentian - Kota Bharu - Kuala Lumpur - Istanbul - Zagreb

This year’s “big” trip and back to Asia. After more than 14 days, you’re already thinking about a home bed, yet when you look back, it’s gone too fast again. And what we have all seen and experienced these days. He was active every day, I am proud of the little traveler who spent the whole trip, with luggage, backpacks, all-day walking, moving from place to place, transportation in between and more, more or less sovereignly. In fact, she is already an experienced traveler :)

We visited Singapore for the first time and reading everything before leaving will hold that the country is banned. The cigarettes you bring with you are cleared through customs, and a list of medicines has been published on what you can and cannot bring to Singapore, but we have not been checked at the border. Basically, Singapore is a really modern city, everything suits them, it’s okay, it’s clean, the people are friendly. Only the prices are not too friendly, depending on how you find yourself. We still managed well, and finding “western” food would be a failure for the travel budget. Otherwise, you also come here because of the food and food court experience and the flavors are top notch. Malaysia is our second time. We knew roughly what awaited us, as in 2017 we had already separated the west coast. So this year, in addition to Melake, which is worth seeing, we finally went to see the Redang and Perhentian islands. Melaka and Kuala Lumpur are a big leap towards the east coast. Kuala Terengganu, for example, you practically can't get beer, in 2017, when we first visited Malaysia, the Chinese "solved" it, but here there are significantly fewer of them. If you ask for a beer, they look at you fat or almost horrified :) Redang is an island we’ve seen, but I can’t openly recommend it too much. Prices are quite high, food is expensive and the choice depends on which resort you "tidy up". Unlike the Perhentian Islands, which I can highly recommend, as the prices are more than "delicious", the whole scene is, at least on the Perhentian Besar (larger island) so finely relaxed, pouring cocktails, beer, not that there isn't. And that for low prices, after a long time the whole scene reminded me of some Thai island where they are relaxed a lot anyway. Perhentian then, certainly. Kota Bharu, on the other hand, is a city with 93% Muslim population, you can hardly see a woman without a headscarf, alcohol - what is it? A place that serves us only as the last bottom before leaving home.

If I would do something different on this route, I would probably spend a day less in Singapore, from KL I would fly directly to Kota Bharu and only go to the Perhentian Islands, Redang and Kuala Terengganu I could drop off now that we know :) Malaysia so we are more or less processed when we wash the traveler’s dust at home and get used to our watch again, and we’ll start to think about where we’re going to go make memories next time. Goodbye and thank you, Singapore and Malaysia.
