To celebrate a truly special milestone birthday, we set off on a 3-day exploration of Croatia's »Golden Island«—Krk. Known as one of the most diverse Adriatic islands, layered with ancient history, Glagolitic heritage, and rugged stone vistas, it delivered the perfect backdrop for celebration and discovery.
Our route highlighted the island's striking contrasts:
• Njivice: Relaxed seaside charm framed by pine scent and quiet coastal promenades.
• Krk Town: Strolling along ancient Roman and medieval walls, the Frankopan Castle, and atmospheric stone alleys.
• Punat: A sheltered, deep bay looking out toward the historic islet of Košljun.
• Baška & Stara Baška: Dramatic white limestone cliffs, iconic pebble beaches, and wild karst scenery.
• Dobrinj: An authentic hilltop medieval village rich in culture and overlooking Soline Bay.
• Vrbnik: Perched high on a 50-meter cliff above the waves, home to the famous Vrbnička Žlahtina wine and Klančić, one of the world's narrowest streets.
