... this green country .... my country ... Slovenia is really beautiful. Despite everything that is happening, despite the cancellation of Vietnam, the Azores, all sailing, all business trips, we have somehow accepted that it is best to travel home this year. Tourist vouchers more or less went before this small trip around Slovenia. This year we were in the Karst, in Postojna Cave, in Bled Vintgar, Å kocjan Caves, in Velika Planina, all impressive, beautiful, friendly. This trip should have lasted even longer, but we still decided to go "home" to Vis for the last 5 days. To friends, more than not to the solitary beauties of my island.
But this trip around Slovenia was nice. Distances are short, and in between there are a lot of opportunities to see various things, which we drive past just like that ... "yes, it's here, we'll be there next time ...". It is not necessary that everything is bad, we have slowed down a bit, the world has stood still and in a way it still stands in some places. Bohinj - Kranjska gora - Bovec - Slovenian coast, this is a quick summary, what counts are the things and especially the experiences that are in between. We have good food, we have a beautiful country, we have a lot of things to offer, experiences, not just beautiful views. And maybe we really carry too little of that into the world.
Not everything is perfect, of course, Slovenia as a destination is not cheap, far from it. Accommodation is quite nice in the range of higher prices in Europe. We spent more than we would say in the Azores, just to sleep, and we would be in the Azores for another week. I'm just like I want to see as much as possible, this year it was Slovenia, with all the friends we met on the way and we don't always manage to get together. It was nice.
Also, everything with this virus will soon be over, and then we will be raising traveler dust elsewhere again. Thank you my country.
